What these numbers mean
FII / FPI are foreign investors (funds, banks, pension funds). DII are Indian institutions: mutual funds, insurers, banks and pension funds. "Net" is what they bought minus what they sold in the cash market that day. Steady foreign selling often weighs on the market and the rupee; strong domestic buying, much of it from monthly SIPs, has often cushioned those falls.
